A complete power mast can be measured from a few sites around the mast with a 3D laser scanner. In the scan cables, insulators etc. are visible too. The 3D point cloud is then used to monitor the components and to check the proximity of vegetation and buildings in relation to the power lines.
3D Laser scanning is also used to determine the concrete volume of windmills to estimate the weight.
